We spent an exciting time in France at the European College of Sport Science – ECSS Congress in Paris During an Invited Symposium, Prof Anne-Marie Elbe, Dr Lambros Lazarus, and Dr Vassilis Barkoukis presented our ViRAL project to a large audience. We enjoyed a lively discussion and many interesting questions about our research! #ECSS2023
Presenting VIRAL to young Athletes
The AUTH team presented the VIRAL project to young athletes. Athletes were informed about the development of a VR program against doping and discussed its usefulness.
Marcus Melzer’s PhD defence
Last week’s PhD defence was the perfect opportunity to inform you about our ViRAL project! Congratulations to Marcus Melzer for successfully defending his thesis entitled “Beyond a Social-Cognitive Perspective on Doping – Towards an Integrative Model of Person−Situation Interactions” at UNIVERSITÄT LEIPZIG.
Educating young football players in Thessaloniki
The AUTH team presented aims and activities of the VIRAL project to football athletes. Athletes were informed about new technologies to transfer their traditional teaching practices to virtual and their usefulness for anti-doping education

The results of VIRAL project were disseminated to football coaches. The AUTH team presented the educational material of the project VIRAL concerning the use of new technologies in anti-doping education.

Dissemination event at the University of Thessaly
We hosted a large dissemination event for our ViRAL project with a presentation by Theresa Manges and Enno Winkler. We are happy that many of our master’s students attended – also from Πανεπιστήμιο Θεσσαλίας in Thessaly – and are keen on participating in the #virtualreality game.
Informing Young athletes about VIRAL
The educational material of the project “VIRAL” was presented in young athletes. The AUTH team distributed leaflets to the athletes and informed them about the project and educational material. Emphasis was placed in the promotion of innovative and impactful anti-doping education through VR.
