Dr Barkoukis presented the viral project in a webinar to the students of the Department of Nutrition at the International Hellenic University. The presentation stimulated discussion about the education on nutritional supplements and doping and resulted in the establishement of collaborations for future research on this field
A multiplier event with a total of 43 attendees was successfully organised by the SHU team. The event was hosted at Barnsley College University Centre’s SciTech building, a dedicated innovation hub normally used by esports students.
On November 3, 2023 our final VIRAL project meeting took place in Thessaloniki. We worked hard to finalize the last tasks in the project as well as discussed future perspectives. And, there was time for socializing and enjoying the spectacular Greek cuisine. Huge thanks to our host Vassilis Barkoukis from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
It was such a pleasure teaching the first year master’s students of the EMSEP program at the University of Thessaly about anti-doping. They were also introduced to the VIRAL project.
Prof. George Palamas help a small presentation for the students of the Media Technology Master in Malmo University. Through his presentation he discussed the scope and mediums of the projects as well as the website.

Dissemination activities within the Erasmus+ project “A Virtual Reality Approach in Learning about Doping (VIRAL)” held in UNEFS National University of Physical Education and Sport Bucharest from September-November 2023 https://viraltheproject.aau.dk/ We presented the project to students enrolled in Sport and Performance and Physical Education program. 31 of the participants were able to try the VR tool.
